Day 18

Loch Doon to Dumfries

The weather was coldish and damp with a headwind. However, the holiday had been exceptionally enjoyable with much to reflect on, and the time passed quickly.

Nearing Dumfries was my first meeting with cycling Irishman Paddy who has lived here for 30 yrs and it emerged that we both used the services of Andrew Grant at his shop DG2 (where I was heading before home to order a new helmet and smaller chainring).

Does Andrew call you  Paddy?
That and many other things!

The final stop was to buy fruit from Robert at his stall in the High Street market. With some rearranging of luggage, there was just enough room in my bags and panniers for my usual quota of fresh fruit.

Back home, I took a photo of the bookends transported safely from The Treasure Hut. They are now in use to good effect.
