Trip from Beauly to Drumnadrochit
After the gruelling day yesterday my smart watched advised a rest day today, but the 26 miles with 2100 feet of ascent including 15% slopes was hardly that and more akin to a good day’s training at home. The lochs on the right just before the big descent to Drumnadrochit were my favourite bits of the scenery.
My cousin and her husband were in good form and appreciating the developing community now that so many of the new properties are occupied and usually with people known to them. The garden is taking shape and it was a pleasure to chat in the sunshine. Hills and much greenery are visible from the house and it is a relaxing place to retire. There is not a problem with midges here.
As usual there were updates on the many relatives in common and conversations could have continued with ease, but we need to do stuff as well!
With the sunshine drying hand-washed clothes so quickly, bikepacking becomes so much easier and one wonders why more people do not sample its pleasures. A needed warm shower, grocery shopping and dining out in the attractive Beauly await. This log will be posted now while this phone is sufficiently charged.
