Elgol to Broadford

It was wonderful to wake up to the sounds of the river and a nearby cuckoo and then to open the tent and marvel at the view of the sea and islands. Breakfast at Cafe Elgol was excellent with some amazing coincidences in conversations with other diners.
The nature of many of the tasks associated with the Misty Isle boat business enabled hours of conversations with several of my relations in the most wonderful surroundings and both staff and passengers were clearly enjoying the experience of the crossings to Loch Coruisk. The wind was strong, in a direction fortunate for these trips but not for those from Portree so resulting in additional passengers for Misty Isle.
Another uplift for me was the apparent state of health of a cousin with whom I have spent countless fine hours over many years (not all admittedly with perfect recollections). For these hours at least he looked considerably better than I had been led to believe. There is much of interest to report privately to others in the Morrison branch of the clan including an imminent baby and a serious relationship.
About 10 pm was not a good time to find a fault with a front cycle light, but eventually the small light used for the tent was found in one of the many pannier pockets and served the emergency adequately. A heavy shower just before arrival at the campsite was not welcome, but almost instantaneous sleep on lying down was still possible. What a day!
