Day 15 of Lap 5

Strathblane to Irvine

This will be reported in more detail on another day. The stats were a distance of 52 miles with 2000 feet of ascent and 1300 active calories. A big change from Lap 3 were to leave the bike at the interesting Lambhill Stables and walk a mile and a half from there to see my cousin in his care home. Cycling to the centre of Glasgow on the towpath of the Forth and Clyde Canal was much preferable to taking roads and this time I found the covered ways leading to a route to the Millenium Bridge over the Clyde. From there Route 7 was soon lost then picked up near Ross Hall Hospital east of Paisley. From there to Irvine there were many excellent stretches of paths with good tarmac surfaces.
