Innerleithen to Silver Sands (Aberdour)

The route today, following Sustrans routes for most of it, was a huge improvement over the surfaces encountered on some roads in Lap 3. Sustrans 1 was followed all the way to The Meadows in Edinburgh and for part of the route from Edinburgh to The Forth Road Bridge. The off-the-road paths had been well-maintained and many sections were shaded. The shade was appreciated on such a sunny day (following an hour of rain from 7 am).

An unexpected treat today was live music from the Fife band "The Session" playing at the Burgh Arms in Innerkeithing.

Heavy rain and strong winds are forecast for the area tomorrow, which should not affect a visit to a care home but will probably severely restrict the distance covered.

The stats for today were rather similar to yesterday‘s: 59 miles with 3000 feet of ascent and 1600 active calories.
