Day 7 of Lap 4

Trip to Elgol from Broadford

The weather today, in marked contrast to yesterday’s heavy rain, was sunny and dry, with excellent views. For the cycle to Elgol starting at 7 am the small patches of mist on the mountainsides added to the view. Stats for today’s cycling were 34 miles with 2700 feet of ascent and 770 active calories.

After conversations with five relations yesterday my luck was in to catch a different seven today plus other regulars met on several occasions in connection with the Misty Isle boat trips. Most of the relatives today were seen working, but could find suitable times to chat while carrying out tasks. There was plenty of evidence of staff and their customers enjoying life.

Rosario’s Cafe Elgol and Hermione’s The Creel were up to their consistently high standard. Rosario remembered what I had ordered weeks ago!

New this visit was an exhibition in the old school (now with too few potential pupils to make it viable) including old photographs, archeology, and the creative output of some of the local artists. Mugs, postcards, coasters, paintings and photographs were for sale and make ideal souvenirs.
