Trip from Inverness to Beauly and North Kessock
The main activity of the day, starting before breakfast, was cycling the Beauly loop. This leaves Inverness on the Clachnaharry road and re-enters the city by the Kessock Bridge. The narrow coastal roads are scenic and make you feel a long way from a city. My route was extended in order to become more familiar with cycle routes through Inverness and covered about 30 miles for over 800 active calories. Variations in the route are shown on a useful map on the Transition Black Isle site.
Lunch at La Tortilla Asesina was a complete change for me and to be repeated. They allowed me to work on the travelogue and wait an hour for security in order to download an app needed to detect rogue characters in files.
For techies only:
Hex Editor showed that in one instance three characters were in the file for a double quote character. Putting in code " instead of typing the " character solved the frustrating and maddening problem of the display of the HTML file only up to the extra characters.
