Day 9 of Lap 3

Trip from East Daviot to Inverness

Visited a cousin in Inverness again and had lots to discuss after seeing a mutual relative. Went to tiny Clachnaharry village near waterfront and saw the communal green where they hang washing. Also went up one side of the jetty, over a lock bridge near some anglers and back down the other side.

Other cyclists had talked about being stuck in heavy traffic after crossing the Kessock Bridge so I explored the possibilities and saw where they might have followed a misleading sign (as I did before backtracking to where I think the mistake happens).

Writing some of this outside Tesco Extra after eating some of their food. Wind is strengthening and could be a difficult ride back to the campsite. Have been given plenty more suggestions about places to go and plan an easier day tomorrow. My watch had suggested that I should rest today.

Update
Back at campsite after 36 miles of cycling today and 1394 active calories. How could I have forgotten that I had morning coffee at Cafe de Paulo in a grand hall that belonged to the academy that Mum and her three sisters went to? It is near the care home that looked after Mum’s cousin Gladys. There was an art exhibition around the walls and balcony.
