Day 3 of Lap 6

Trip from Lambhill to Lennoxtown

Lambhill Stables welcomes camper vans in its carpark and expects a voluntary donation in return. Other campers like me are also allowed. With breakfast not being served until 10 am in its cafe there was a good opportunity to test the bulk of an off-the-road route to Strathblane via the canal towpath to Kirkintilloch and then a path replacing a disused railway line to Strathblane. The towpath was being used by walkers and runners in a Glasgow to Edinburgh event and the canal by canoeists in a Glasgow to Falkirk competition. The scenic path from Kirkintilloch to Lennoxtown was busy with more dog walkers than cyclists.

The main activities today were a couple of visits to a care home to see a cousin. Unfortunately, his dementia had deteriorated within a few weeks and more often than not it was impossible for me to understand what he was trying to communicate. I will try another visit tomorrow morning before heading towards Lanark.

Stats for the day including both visits to the care home were a distance of 28 miles with only 500 feet of ascent and 750 active calories.
