Day 2 of Lap 6

Abington to Lambhill

The plan was to follow cycle routes 74, 75, 756 and 754, which was fine until tiredness contributed to making some poor decisions. Some of the signs were twisted and most signs gave a route number without a destination or overall direction such as north or south. There were a couple of occasions when I had to double back after making the wrong choice of direction.

The stats for the day were much greater than expected, covering 60 miles with 3000 feet of climbing and using 1900 active calories. While much of the route was flat, alongside rivers and canals, many of the roadside paths were hilly. The most demanding sections were on country lanes. The cycling was very varied and took advantage of woodland even close to densely populated areas. Autumn colours abounded.
