Visiting in Broadford
The decision yesterday not to camp in Kinloid but to continue to Broadford while conditions were favourable proved to be sound; today in Broadford as forecast was very wet. The spacious campsite shelter was well-used for eating, socialising and drying kit.
The first task was to shop in the now more fully-stocked Co-op with a good choice of fresh fruit and veg. Washing chores followed a most enjoyable breakfast at The Market Kitchen, where it was confirmed that their coffee was widely appreciated. Also in the market square is The Treasure Hut, at which light stones were selected to take back home.
This was a rest day (with only 200 active calories from some walking and only a few miles on the bike to see five nearby relations). The forecast is good for a day in Elgol tomorrow, when the cycling there and back will certainly not be restful.
There were many and varied topics of conversation today, with health at the forefront. Looking back on the discussions, there were several occasions when the Morrison side of our family were talking or asking about the Campbell side, and vice-versa. This is pleasing to reflect upon.
Now, as on awakening this morning, there is a loud sound of rain falling on the tent. The wind has dropped, so there could be midges to contend with. Smidge and midge net are at the ready.
